It hasn't exactly felt like summer here in Chicago. We've had one or two really warm days but for the most part it has been rainy with highs in the 50's and 60's. Apparently someone forgot to tell June that it's a summer month.
Even though it hasn't been beach weather, I'm trying to embrace all the other lovely things about summer. I've been buying my fruit and vegetables from the farmers markets that started this month. I spend my weekends trying to enjoy the street festivals and music fairs that are kicking into high gear. (Trying is the operative word in that sentence. At a street fest last weekend, I was too cold to really enjoy myself!)
Embrace summer, folks! Once the vernal equinox arrives on June 21, it's a long slow slide into a cold dark winter again!
