Captain Dapper just returned from a sunny and relaxing little California getaway. It can take awhile for Chicago to get really nice and warm - in fact our Memorial Day is usually cold and rainy - so a few days spent in California was a real treat.
I kept the vacation very loosely planned but one stop I knew I had to make was to the Trina Turk and Mr. Turk store in Palm Springs. I've been following Mr. Turk on Instagram for quite awhile now - it's an amazing source for eye candy (wink wink) - so since I was going to be in the area I wanted to see the clothes up close and personal.
The day that I stopped in it was with the sole intention of buying swim trunks. I had forgotten to pack any swimwear and since I was staying at a hotel with a pool, that had to be remedied right away. I picked up the Surfside Short for a more conservative look. It's a retro cut with a slim fit - great for skinny legs.
I couldn't leave without also picking up a more daring short for sunbathing ...

I fell in love with the Sorrento Trunk when I saw it on Terry Miller, Dan Savage's impossibly handsome husband. It covers just enough skin while also accentuating the positive, if you know what I mean.
What ultimately sold me on Trina Turk and Mr. Turk clothing is that it's made in California. Captain Dapper is a big proponent of American made fashions. That these fashions are super colorful and fun is an added bonus.
