Reelagram Makes Old School Viewing of Your Favorite Instagram Pics

As I said yesterday, Captain Dapper loves some Instagram. If I'm not scrolling through all my favorite Instagram buddies, I'm snapping my own pics. Now imagine taking those Instagram pics and having them turned into slide reels for your View Master. Old school meets new school. I am dying to try this!

Here are all the details you really want to know: You can fit seven photos on each reel. Reels on their own cost $24.95 but you can kick in an extra $5 to get the viewer as well. (You know, just in case you lost the original View Master that you used to look at the Winnie the Pooh slides through.) It all seems to be as easy as logging in with your Instagram account, choosing your photos, forking over some money and waiting about a week for delivery.

The digital side of this clever little throwback comes from a Doejo, a digital agency here in Chicago. The actual reel and View Master comes from Image 3d, founded by Rich Dubnow "aka the Most Experienced 3D Photographer in the World." Dubnow was lead photographer at View-Master 20 years.

With photography being so digital these days (when was the last time you had photos printed?), I think this concept is brilliant! Future generations, which are sure to be even more digital-based, are sure to get a kick out of all the selfies and twerking on these reels when they find them in rummage shops and thrift stores. They'll be like, Wow those people in 2013 were crazy! Let's hop a space bus to Mars and show Mom and Dad!
